Yorkshire and North East Film Archives shortlisted for FOCAL International Awards!
Members of the YFA and NEFA team will be heading to the capital later this week, to attend the 2022 FOCAL International Awards, where we've been shortlisted in the 'Footage Company of the Year' category!
It's a real honour to make the shortlist for this prestigious award - a testament to the hard work of each and every member of our team.
We're also delighted that Lost Connections, a unique UK-wide collaboration of national and regional film archives, led by YFA and NEFA, has been shortlisted in the 'Best Use of Footage in a Short Film Production' category. Supported by Film Hub North on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network through National Lottery funding, Lost Connections offers a poetic response to the experience of the Coronavirus pandemic. It draws on a century of archive footage, inviting reflections on recovery, renewal, the human character, sadness and joy, what we really value, and our reconnection with each other, our communities, and the world around us.
Regardless of the result, we're looking forward to a celebratory evening, raising a glass with colleagues from across the sector!
