The film begins with troops marching across the field at Knavesmire, carrying the Royal Standard. In the foreground children are limbering up for the gymnastics display. There is a royal gun salute and a flyover by the RAF. The Queen arrives on the racetrack, wearing a lime coloured coat and carrying an umbrella, to inspect the troops. She is then...

The film begins with troops marching across the field at Knavesmire, carrying the Royal Standard. In the foreground children are limbering up for the gymnastics display. There is a royal gun salute and a flyover by the RAF. The Queen arrives on the racetrack, wearing a lime coloured coat and carrying an umbrella, to inspect the troops. She is then presented with flowers by a young boy and girl, before being escorted by the Mayor around the children who doing gymnastics and dancing, with Prince Philip behind. There is also a display by the Household Cavalry on horseback, and a military band playing. The Queen rides around the course in a horse drawn carriage and the film comes to an end.
