This is a film of a family on a trip to Pickering and the North York Moors Railway, and also a parade of marionettes in Selby.
The film begins with a man and his daughter, hand-in-hand, coming out of a café. They then have a look around a medieval ruin, possibly an abbey or castle. Next they are on the platform of Pickering Railway Station as a steam train (80135) approaches on the North York Moors Railway. They board the train and are next seen down by a river. Two girls walk barefoot over a bridge. They continue their train journey, and there is another steam train which passes (engine 841). There is a sign for Grosmont Railway Station. The film switches to show a parade of the Kellingley Falcons Youth Band, followed by another band of majorettes. Another banner has ‘Souperettes’ written on it as they march towards Selby Abbey, and the film comes to an end.
