This is a film taken by R Heaton, a member of the Yorkshire District Association of The Camping Club of Great Britain and Ireland. The film shows a camping holiday of the West Runton Club site in the Norfolk Broads and Lowestoft.
The film begins at a seaside resort where there is a ‘Premier Tripe Saloon’. A woman walks along a very narrow old street while a woman is filmed looking into a distorting mirror. They go along the sea front looking at all the attractions; a leisure boat takes a group around a small lake. At a larger lake a man is fishing on a pier and then from a rowing boat. The catch is displayed on the pier. People watch boats going by from a footbridge over a river, near Broads-Haven, where various types of boats can be seen. There is a sign for Ye Olde Ferry Inn, Proprietor A R Stringer. After watching many of the boats the film switches to the coast where cars are parked and boats are on the beach, with a long pier in the background. They go on a boat ride past Oulton Broad Yacht Station. Next some children are in a playground on a roundabout and a boat swing. Next to the sea a shunting engine passes propelling a wagon. There is a fishing boat (LT.310). The go on paddling boats and the beach at Lowestoft. There are children on trikes, views of the coastline, swimming in the sea, sunbathing on the beach, canoeing and a country house. An earth mover pushes sand back on the beach away from the sea. Nearby people are fishing. There is more boating, a vintage car display, and a journey back along the coast by boat and along the Broads.
