The film begins showing a road sign for Ottringham, and underneath, a small girl holding up a placard, giving the date of 8th June 1946, copyright, Vaughan & Co, Hull. Girls are lined up for a three legged race, with boys and adults standing around. They are in a field with St Wilfred’s Church, Ottringham, in the background. There are several three legged races. Two women are seated on the grass with a man in uniform. Young boys have a race collecting balls and putting them into a bucket. There are shots of the villagers present, including a group of youth on bicycles. Four women arrive arm-in-arm.
The film switches to show a road sign for Keyingham, and, again, underneath, the small girl holding up a placard, giving the date of 8th June 1946, copyright, Vaughan & Co,, Hull. There is a close-up of the village war memorial. A group of women all wearing party hats stand in the doorway of a building, posing for the camera. There is a group of adults and children standing in the same spot, many of them laughing, next to table having a victory celebration cake on it. One man, wearing a home-made scarf, and holding a pipe, gets a kiss from his wife. Elsewhere, villagers are shown leaving a field, presumably after a victory celebration event had taken place.
