Title – G.H.C. Presents Do You Remember – 1943
Mother (Louie) is knitting in a chair, two children seated close by are painting and drawing, and upon noticing the camera, look up briefly. This is followed by several close ups of the children painting, of the paintings themselves and the mothers face. A man cycles down an empty street, a young girl seated on the bicycle seat and holding onto his back, he is being followed by Louie and a young boy. Views of the family mucking about on their bikes on the road. A brief view of a family stood outside a house followed by a portly woman sat reading the paper on a doorstep. Various views of the family messing around on their bikes, riding up and down the road sometimes with no hands. Views of a toy baby stroller stationary on a foot path, followed by more views of the children cycling on the road. The young girls take it in turns to push the toy stroller, complete with doll baby, up and down the street as the adults of the family watch from the front yard of a house.
The family venture into a close by field and down to a river bank, where they throw stones into the water. Views of the family foraging the bushes that line the walking path, preening branches and flowers and collecting them into bunches. The family continue their walk along a country path, a young toddler is at the back of the group wrapped up in winter layers. They take a rest on the hill side, looking out at the view below, several profile close ups of the family members show them chatting and looking content.
One of the adult males in the group picks up one of the young boys by an arm and a leg and swings him around. One of the young girls takes off her coat and performs a dance on a rock raised up from the family; a brief view of a cow’s face interrupts the dance before returning to the girl. A sheep and a goat are also intercut throughout the girls dance before returning to the climax of the girl’s dance which is seen in slow motion. The family applaud jubilantly and the girl curtsies and runs to join them.
A young boy takes the stage only to use it as a jumping platform, as the girl organises the flowers and branches foraged earlier. The family gather their branches and flowers, put back on their jackets and head off again along the hill side, with the family dog rallying them along. They stop again for another break, at the top of the hill.

In a yard a man and the children are playing marbles. A rabbit is fetched out of its hutch by Louie who holds the animal in her arms and feeds him morsels of lettuce before introducing the rabbit to the pet cat before placing the rabbit back in the hutch along with the disgruntled pet cat. Louie then closes the trap and feeds them both through the wire mesh. A boy is holding a different rabbit now with fairer fur, then with rabbit in arms leads the family out the back door and into the garden.
Title – Grandma and Grandpa Moss lived at Gildersome
The boy with his rabbit poses with his grandma in the doorway at the end of a garden path.
A young girl is sat at a table drawing whilst grandma watches through the window. Grandpa enjoys a pipe in the doorway, whilst grandma and the young girl take a stroll through the garden; views of chickens, allotments, ducks, herb and flower gardens. Grandpa with a bunny in his arms comes down the garden path to join them, the young girl runs over to stroke the rabbit. She then runs over to a deck chair in the sun at the other side of the garden, pretends to nap for a brief moment before bursting out into laughter.
Change of Location – Family home in Leeds
Views of the family enjoying afternoon tea around a table bathed in sunlight from the window next to it. Views of a young boy biking down a terraced street, before coming to a stop outside a door, milk bottles on the window ledge next to it. Two children emerge through the door and pose for the camera, a young girl and slightly older boy, both eating sandwiches. A woman emerges briefly into the door frame only to sheepishly turn back inside once she notices the camera.
