Catterick Garrison is a major garrison and town three miles south of Richmond, North Yorkshire.  It is the largest British Army garrison in the world with a population of around 13,000 and measuring over 2,400 acres.  This film was taken during an open day and features military displays using helicopters, tanks, and aeroplanes.   The film opens with a brief shot of a woman seated in the back of a car.  The same woman is then seated with a man outside on the grass to watch the military...

Catterick Garrison is a major garrison and town three miles south of Richmond, North Yorkshire.  It is the largest British Army garrison in the world with a population of around 13,000 and measuring over 2,400 acres.  This film was taken during an open day and features military displays using helicopters, tanks, and aeroplanes.   The film opens with a brief shot of a woman seated in the back of a car.  The same woman is then seated with a man outside on the grass to watch the military demonstrations at Catterick.  A helicopter flies close to the ground, and next a tank drives over a hilly ground.  There is a small house on the field which the tank runs right through.  Two men from the Parachute Regiment land on the field.  Helicopters land, and troops disembark.  They then get onto different helicopters that land nearby.  More tanks appear, and there is a shooting demonstration.   The film ends with shots of a fighter plane flying at low altitude over the field.
