Title - The Camp is organized and run primarily for the benefit of Salem Sunday School and Junior Youth Club Boys between the ages of eleven and fifteen.
Title - Let us meet them on their arrival at the Railway Station
There are four men standing on the platform at the railway station awaiting the arrival of the train. The train pulls into the station, and the boys depart the train, lining up with their duffle bags.
Title - Modern transport - kindly loaned by a renowned Hunslet engineering firm - relieves the Boys' Burden
Everyone load the bags into the truck.

The tents are set up on the campsite.
Title - Every camper knows the rule - No Wash, No Breakfast
The boys clean up in the water nearby the camp before breakfast.

The boys run out of their tents towards the meal tent for breakfast.

There are many long tables set up under the tent around which everyone is seated. They are reading from prayer books for their daily worship time.
Title - The daily post is early awaited - How much has Dad sent? Or is it Mum?
One of the boy campers runs towards the campsite with the post. Many members of the camp gather around for mail call.
Title - Spending money for the day is drawn after breakfast. This is the only bank which pays out on bank holiday.
One of the Bosses is seated at a small table and is counting out money for the boys.
Title - Packed lunches for the day's excursion are prepared

The boys are seated around on the lake embankment eating lunch.
Title - Each day a small group of boys remain in camp - this is the fatigue party - each day's fatigue is the 'Best of the Week'
The boys who remain behind prep potatoes dinner.
Title - Advantage is taken in the hikers absence for a little relaxation
The Bosses take the time for an extra washing up in the lake.
Title - Misc. camp activities include - Swimming and fishing in Lake Coniston
Many of the boys can be seen swimming in the lake as well as diving in off the docks.

A man throws a coin up in the air and the boys scramble around in order to retrieve it.

Camp sports include high jump, long jump, and sack races.
Title - Coniston's Grand Old Lady, Mrs. Wilson, presents the sports prizes.
Title - Before we close the book on Coniston, let us take a final look at the boys as Mr. Charlton is ready for his departure.
The whole camping group is gathered together in front of the tents posing for the camera and giving a final waving cheer.
Title - We now close the book on the last of six glorious camps at Coniston 1950-1955
Title - And now for the Future - Next Year's camp will be at Stonethwaite, in one of the most beautiful of the Lake District valleys Borrowdale.
