This is a film which documents the Salem Boys' Camp at Coniston. Title - We now await the arrival of the Angels Title - And here they are At the train station, the boys arrive all carrying their own duffle bag. Title - The holiday has commenced so meet the Bosses There are different shots of the Bosses, each smiling and or waving to the camera. They then line up as a group and pose for a picture in front of the tents. Title - And now we meet the angels The boys line up in front of the tents and wave in the same way. Title - Satisfying the inner man is a necessity of camp life - What shall we have? Title - Spud bashing The boys peel potatoes for the evening meal. Title - The Scientific cool Title - Dinner Bell com 'n Gerrit A man rings the dinner bell and the boys come running to the large meal tent for dinner. Title - Grace Everyone bows their heads in prayer while they are seated around long tables under the meal tent. Title - The boys tuck in Everyone is eating dinner Title - Appreciation of the Lake District is one of the objects of camp Title - Preparing for a days excursion Those leaving the camp for the day are gathered together with backpacks. Some of the leaders are looking at a map and explaining to the boys the route as they point up towards the mountains. Title - Destination Coniston 'Old Man' As they go off for the day, some wave at the camera on the way by. Title - Glimpses of another excursion Title - Bowness Front There are a few shots of the town and boats docked nearby in the lake. Title - The boys leave for Waterhead from miles up Lake Windermere. The boys are packed tightly into a small boat and wave to the camera as they leave from the dock for their trip up the lake. Title - Arrival at Waterhead The boat pulls into the docks. Title - Contemplating the climb at Langdale Some members of the group wait around while others discuss the hiking route. They then begin to hike up the hill to a waterfall. Here they relax on the embankment. Afterwards, a man rolls an inner-tube from the water back up to camp. Title - And this The boys scramble to find a coin which has been thrown in the air, and one boy briefly does a headstand. Title - But the main interest of the boys is centred around this. A few teenage girls are in a rowboat down on the lake.
