This film is from the Kathleen Lockwood collection and contains footage from a medieval fair that is put on in the village. There is also footage from other activities that take place in the Holme Valley.
Title-Sept 18th 1971.
The film opens at the Civic Hall in Holmfirth and shows a performance by a group of Morris Dancers followed by sword dancers. Both groups of men wear traditional dress and a large crowd have gathered to watch their performance.

At Honley in the Holme Valley, the lights are being turned on across the village.
Title-Thinking Day February 25th 1973.
A procession of scouts, guides, cubs and brownies make their way through Holme Firth village.
There is a shot of a leaflet which is advertising a `Medieval Fayre and Tavern Tournament'. Then there is a sequence of shots showing the many activities and events that are put on for the fair. Bagpipers lead a fancy dress procession into a field where lots of children have gathered in various medieval costumes. There is a castle back drop in the field and people pose in front of it.
There are many other attractions at the fair including: dancing, a shooting event, a competition to knock ceramics off a shelf, a splash game, Morris Dancers, pretend chariot games and a drinking game. The other attraction is a food stall which is provided via a spit roast pig.
Bagpipers then perform before there is some country dancing. The dancers are followed by formation sword dancing from men from a local group. The final event to take place is a tug-o-war match between men from the village.
In the next section there is a shot of a newspaper that shows a fire at a local mill being reported.
Title-Bi-Centenary Celebrations and Gift Day Saturday July 9 1977.
The Ambassador of Finland comes to Holme Firth to plant a tree. He is greeted by many local people who have congregated in the centre of the village. A plaque beside the tree reads 'Planted by his Excellency the Finnish Ambassador to Commemorate the Bicentenary 1977'.
The final sequence takes place in the centre of the village and shows children gathered in fancy dress outside the community centre. Final shots show a brass band playing nearby.
