The film begins with a church clock showing 9.40, before we see a road sign at a junction for Londesborough, Shiptonthorpe and Driffield along the A163. A round top bus passes and a woman poses next to a road sign on the A163 for Market Weighton 7 miles in one direction, and Driffield 9 miles in the other. We then see a railway crossing at Bainton Road, cars going along the A163 and ducks in a pond. Next a busy Bridlington town centre is shown with the shops 'Higginsons and Sons' Bakery and 'Turgoose'. This is followed by 'Spa boating lake', which has children in small powered boats, a miniature railway and cars on an electric track. Next a busy beach is shown with people in deck chairs and a pool for model yachts. A crowded beach has donkey rides and changing tents with 'Bridlington Corporation' on the side.
A woman buys some fresh popcorn for 6d (old pence), and some children eat candy floss. Some seaside shops are shown and a machine for stamping your name. The film scans the local scene of holiday makers, a policeman, the pier and harbour caf?. The film focuses on a Hillman car, before showing boats in the harbour with the tide out. Some fishermen repair their nets, and 'Bogg of Bridlington' is shown. Then a rowing boat laden with holiday makers sets off, and other boats fill up as the tide comes in. Again the beach is shown crowded with people, children playing in the sand and eating lollipops. The donkeys are shown lined up, and stalls selling ice creams and tea. Holiday makers paddle in the sea and there are sailing boats. A billboard is shown for the 'Scenic Train Ride to Sewerby Park', the 'Burlington Bell'. Next we see Sewerby Hall and gardens with deer and llamas, followed by Flamborough Head, with people swimming in the sea. From there the film moves to Filey Bay with boats and people on the beach with changing tents. A boat is pulled ashore by a tractor, and a dog fetches a ball from the sea. Two girls splash about on the edge of the sea. A platform is shown being built in the sea (possibly an exploratory gas well).
Back in the town, two boys and two women watch as the waves crash against the harbour walls. The film draws to a close as it watches the waves.
