From the wings inside a theatre a ventriloquist performing his routine on stage. A man in a dark suit comes forward towards a microphone quickly changing to another act featuring two men and a woman performing a comedy and acrobatic routine. They are followed by a chorus line of young women perform a dance followed by second acrobatic routine featuring four men and two women all in matching outfits.
A man walks up to and speaks into a microphone changing to the three performers seen previously now back on stage performing their routine again. A woman in a long gown stands at the microphone addressing the audience, she sings accompanied by a man playing a piano.
In a dressing room Molly Smith sits with a cup of tea in her hand talking with another woman sitting nearby. Seeing the camera, the other woman pulls faces. [Out of focus] One of Stan’s brothers sits in a chair putting on makeup, another brother films himself in a mirror. Stan Smith washes himself; Molly stands and prepares to leave. Another brother stares down the camera lens, another checks his eyebrow.
Sitting around a small table Stanley sits against the wall smoking a cigarette, Molly sits next to him chatting. Another woman sits across from them as drinks are offered and consumed. Stanley pretends to drink a bottle of Heinz ketchup. In a darkened room a budgerigar sits on Molly’s hand, she tries kissing it. The budgie now sits on the other woman’s hand who also tries kissing it.
From the wings again The Five Smith Brothers, all dressed in kilts, perform their song and dance routine to an unseen audience. Their performance ends and they leave the stage to be replaced by another performer dressed as a clown with oversized clothing and large hair.
Molly Smith stands in the doorway of her caravan; a small terrier dog comes over. Two more caravans are parked beside Molly. Then a budgerigar in a cage inside one of the caravans. One of Stan’s brothers stands in the doorway of his caravan; as Molly hangs washing on a line a second woman pulls faces at the camera.
One of the Smith brothers speaks with a policeman on horseback, he looks over a rifle and strokes the horse. Molly takes a map out of car and checks the vehicle for dirt.
Molly Smith and an older man walk past away from a large building, the man stands with one of Stan’s brothers chatting. Back at the caravan site a car parked behind two of the caravans, Molly appears beside the car and begins to fold a headscarf. She stands chatting with another woman, the terrier seen previously sniffs around their feet. The film ends with Molly walking away through a gate.
