The film shows staff and patients on the ward receiving dialysis and includes interviews with patient Ray Downey, a well know local charity worker and kidney transplant patient, and a Elizabeth Lannister who has worked at the hospital about the move of the unit to the Sunderland General Hospital.   The film begins on the Renal Unit showing nurses and other hospital staff going about their work and patients going through dialysis.   Interview with patient Ray Downer who has been on dialysis for 13 years. He talks about what it is like being on the unit and having multiple kidney transplants. He also gives his opinion on the move of the unit from the Royal Infirmary to the Sunderland General Hospital. He isn't happy but is resigned to the situation. Interview with Elizabeth Lannister who has worked on the unit for 13 years and at the Infirmary for 35. She thinks the move will be good for the patients as the currently building is no longer fit for purpose.
