Some familiar places from previous films appear again as the family visit favourite haunts. The film opens with a view of the Mull of Kintyre on the south western tip of the Kintyre peninsula showing cormorants on rocks, and a view of a road lit by an overcast sky. A high angle view shows a car park near a small harbour in fine weather. The film cuts to a general view of boats tied in a lock at Crinan in Argyll and Bute in the west of Scotland. Sailing boats queue to go through as lock gates are opened by hand. More private boats make their way through the lock as does a lifeboat. Views of the Isle of Seil include the Clachan Bridge a simple, single-arched bridge spanning the Clachan Sound. Because Clachan Sound connects at both ends to the Atlantic Ocean, the bridge is known locally as the Bridge over the Atlantic. The film cuts to general views of Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe. These are followed by general views of waterfalls, wild flowers, a dragonfly and a walker crossing a rope bridge. At Spean Bridge near Loch Lochy in the Scottish Islands, the camera reveals a memorial to army commando’s. Erected in 1952, it commemorates the elite soldiers who fell during the Second World War and who gained their Green Berets at the Commandos Basic Training Centre in nearby Achnacarry. A view of a road signpost shows directions to villages on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, Salen, Kilchoan, Kilmory, Fascadale and Ockle. General views follow of a lighthouse and white beaches followed by close ups of plants, boats on a lake and an ants nest. General views show cattle grazing on a hillside, followed by a view of the post office at Salen. The film cuts to phantom passenger views from an Austin Metropolitan car. General views follow of the sands at Morar and Mallaig,  A close up of a notice board lists services rendered by the Mallaig lifeboat service. A signpost shows directions for Mallaig. General views follow of Gruinard Bay located 12 miles north of Poolewe, in northwestern Ross and Cromarty on the west coast of Scotland. The island of the same name was contaminated with anthrax spores after wartime experiments. The film cuts to a woman who collects heather on the moors and puts some on the bonnet of a car. General views of the gardens at Inverewe located just to the north of Poolewe in Wester Ross. General views follow of Highland cattle then boats at Ullapool. General views follow of Handa Island bird reserve off the west coast of Sutherland, Scotland, followed by Cape Wrath on the North West tip. General views of old cottages and a mini bus trip to a lighthouse end the film.
