An amateur film that records the opening night of a new exhibition by the artist Eric Scott at the Bede Gallery in Jarrow on the 11 December 1991. The film shows people wandering around the gallery looking at the art both hanging on the walls and in display cases. The film begins showing a large poster which reads ‘Eric Scott 11th December 1991’ Inside Gallery One people looking around the space at painting hanging on the walls and ceramics either on plinths or in display cases. People discuss what they see over pints of beer and glasses of wine. Artist Eric Scott speaks with various patrons such as Vince Rea who wanders around taking photographs with his camera.   Inside another gallery, items on the history of Jarrow are on display including a banner which reads ‘Jarrow Crusade’.   People help themselves to snacks laid out on a table as they continue talking in pairs or small groups. Behind a small bar, three women serve drinks and wash up glasses. The film ends on a small group standing in a doorway talking.
