The film opens with a high angle view of a curve in a rail track, and a steam engine reversing with some coal trucks over staithes at Amble, in order to load a ship at the end of the staithes.
The film cuts to a small tank engine coming down an incline. The film ends as the small engine reverses back with coal trucks. The engine is 68078 a J94 0-6-0 saddle tank presently preserved at the Kent & East Sussex railway.
