Filmmaker and railway enthusiast Chris Lawson travels to Germany to record his holiday excursions and take footage of railways, particularly steam hauled trains.
The film opens with a high angle view from the deck of a ferry. The bow is swivelled upwards, presumably to allow cars to drive into the hold. Sluice gates are opened and closed to allow the ferry's access to open sea. Views follow of cranes in the distance on a quayside of an unidentified port.
The film cuts to dark footage, probably taken at dusk of steam trains. General views follow of a station platform where a steam train waits. It pulls away from the platform going past signal gantries and a signal box.
A brief section of indistinct footage follows which cuts to a footage of a man filming the snow covered tops of a mountain range (The Alps?). The camera pans right then cuts to a view of a snow covered mountain top, panning down to the sea or a lake. The camera pans right showing the extent of the mountain range.
Next a long view follows of a boat on the lake, the camera follows the boat panning right to left. More general views follow of the mountains across the water.
The film cuts to a quayside and a Mini van being hoisted by crane onto a ship. The car disappears into the hold of the ship. The film ends as the ships name is revealed as 'Leda'.
