Title: The Waiting Room
The film opens on a young man walking nervously across a floor and stubbing out a cigarette in an ash tray. He takes a seat beside a table and begins to read a newspaper before taking out another cigarette and lighting it. Distracted the match burns down to the end and burns his fingers.
As he stubs out the cigarette a man in a white lab coat, played by Walter Clark, comes into the room and holds up two fingers at the nervous man who begins to relax. He begins to read a ‘Today’ magazine.
The man in the lab coat comes back into the room looking nervous and holds up three fingers to the waiting man who jumps up in shock covering his mouth with his right-hand. Again, he starts pacing the room before shrugging, taking a seat and continuing to read the magazine.
The man comes over to the door, opens in and looks into the other room where a woman in a lab coat (Sylvia Harding) sits at a desk rubbing her leg. She looks up in surprise at the man watching her, he closes the door and goes back into waiting room. He begins to read a poster on the wall before taking out and lighting another cigarette.
The waiting room door opens and the waiting man suddenly begins to choke as the woman in the lab coat comes into the room. As she helps the waiting man to a chair the other man in the lab coats comes into the room. The woman looks up in surprise as the man in the coat holds up four fingers. On the floor in front of them the waiting man is now unconscious. The woman rushes out of the room and returns with a glass of water. She helps him to sit up as he sips from the glass before helping him to his feet.
The waiting man brushes himself down as the man in the lab coat comes in the room this time accompanied by a second woman who is holding a handkerchief across her mouth. The man in the lab coat watches as the waiting man and woman leave. He looks at the woman in the lab coat, they both shrug. The film ends with the waiting man assisting the woman with handkerchief out of the door.
End title: The End.
