The child crawls into the living room making her way towards the Christmas tree and a small inflatable Father Christmas figure. Again, she picks up and begins playing with her ragdoll.
An older woman sits on a sofa nearby watching the girl beside the tree. Marjorie Collender comes into the room carrying a baby bottle of milk. She sits on the sofa beside the other woman and the child comes over to be fed.
The girl plays with her shoes before being put back onto the carpet, in the near distance an open fire is burning. She stands beside the other woman holding a doll. Nearby a dog watches the child play. The older woman strokes a cat sitting on a table beside the sofa.
A second older woman sits on the sofa putting food into the girls mouth. She sits with the girl beside the tree and the dog comes over and stands beside them. She points at the star atop the tree before feeding the girl a small sweet.
Sitting by herself on the floor, the child uses a chair to stand watched by the adults around her. She turns towards the tree.
The family sit around the room, the child sitting on the knee of the second older woman while the first sits across the room. The girl tries to grab a glass bauble from the tree.
The child pushes her toy pram up and down the carpet helped by the second older woman standing behind her. Marjorie sits on the floor with her daughter beside the tree as the dog comes over to sniff her.
On television Les Dawson is performing a sketch while nearby the girl plays with the inflatable Father Christmas. She eats from a spoon and bowl but is distracted by her toys. On the television screen a couple are chatting over drinks.
A fire burns in the hearth and there are views of the decorated Christmas tree with it’s large star on the top. With the television playing in the background the film ends with the girl continuing to play on the carpet beside the tree.
