A home move produced by Joe Clark believed to show a Royal Naval Review taking place at Portsmouth in May 1977 as part of Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee celebrations. Television cameras as well as large crowds gather to watch a large flotilla of Royal Navy ships and submarines sail past as well as the Royal Yacht Britannia. A television camera and cameraman on a long crane looks out onto Portsmouth Harbour as a flotilla of Royal Naval vessels come into port. A number of other BBC cameras are set up nearby as crowds gather on a hillside to watch proceedings. Four Royal Navy ships and two submarines are escorted into the harbour by tugboat. A number of smaller pleasure boats and yachts accompany the flotilla, many more ships are moored around the harbour. Those on the riverside use binoculars to watch the procession as an Avro Vulcan bomber flies overhead followed by a helicopter and then a man getting into a car. Sunset over the harbour where a number of larger vessels are moored in the distance while smaller pleasure boats are moored in the foreground. A passenger ferry crossing the water passing many smaller vessels sailing on the water as well as a submarine. Two women stand chatting beside a wall. At night lights onboard ships give the outline of many of the vessels moored there. A group of spectators stand on an embankment as more Royal Naval vessels and helicopters sail or fly over the harbour. Many of those in the crowd are using binoculars. The Royal Yacht Britannia sailing into Portsmouth Harbour, crowds along the quayside watching and taking photographs as the ship passes. Crowds fill a beach with many large ships moored in then near distance all along the coastline. The television camera on a crane seen previously captures something on the water, a Hover Travel hovercraft speeds past. In the distance the Royal Yacht Britannia sails away and the film ends on a large crowd sitting on an embankment looking out to sea.
