Waves crash against the seawall, nearby the Watch House along Victoria Crescent. General views of the rear of a number of terraced houses and buildings at Cullercoats. Horses ride along Long Sands beach at Tynemouth while crowds of people walk along the surf. Crowds also walk along Tynemouth Pier, some watching as a passenger ferry enters the River Tyne heading upstream. A sign on a wall for the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade ‘Watch House’, nearby a covered statue and a views looking upstream. A road sign points towards ‘Ferry’ changes to the Shields Ferry ‘Northumbrian’ pulls along a dockside at North Shields. A man along the dockside ties up the boat, the gangway lowered, and passengers disembark. An older woman gets onboard and walks across the deck as the ferry pulls away. On the Tyne a cargo ship sails past, moored nearby the new Tyne Ferry ‘Freda Cunningham’. At South Shields the gangway is lowered and passengers disembark. Looking back towards Tynemouth and North Shields a ship heads upstream. The film ends in a park with a lake on which ducks swim and the older woman walking though daffodils.
