An amateur film that records a visit by dignitaries to the factory of Head Wrightson Machinery Co. Ltd on Commercial Street in Middlesbrough. They look over a piece of machinery that has a sign next to it indicating it being made to be sent to Rhodesia. They leave the factory and work over to the other room for a meeting. The reel ends with workers, both men and women, walking back into the factory.
The film opens with a group of four smartly dressed men walking into a heavy machine shop at the Head Wrightson works in Middlesbrough. They start a walking tour of workshops and watch workers operating the machinery.
The group stop and have a discussion, before continuing with their tour. They stop to watch another machine and its operator at work.
As a group they stop again this time facing the camera as they have further discussions. They move on talking as they take their tour, occasionally stopping to watch another process in action. Next to one machine a notice shows where the product might be going: the Mchanga Copper Works in Rhodesia. A general view follows of a workshop.
The quartet move on again and stop to discuss another issue near some main doors to the workshop. Two of the group are looking at aspects of the roof structure immediately above them.
The group are walk outside, then the film cuts back inside with the men looking across another workshop space.
Outside again the group walk along a cobbled roadway, where steel tracks are embedded in the surface. They walk towards the camera and out into a street and then enter another part of the premises through an open door.
In an office the men sit around a table for a meeting. The topics for discussion seem to be in several photographs or pictures on the table in front of them.
The film cuts to outside where the works personnel enter a building via an entrance which is partly obscured by a canopy or porch under which motorcycles and a car are parked. The four men seen earlier follow the others towards the building, and stop just outside the entrance, at which point the film ends abruptly.
