Title – The Yorkshire Dales
Intertitle - Airedale
There is a sign for Skipton, followed by a panoramic view over the town, with a steam locomotive passing through in the distance. A boy walks along a wooded path holding a branch. Then the film shows the war memorial and church. They take a look around the Castle, and take a view of the town from the top. There is a river and trees just coming into blossom. Two girls look at some spring flowers in a park which are shown close up. Two men show a boy around a nursery with more flowers. Again the river and park are shown.
The film moves to show some rock faces and fog over a valley. They drive through the fog, filming from the front of the car. The fog clears, and rocks in the valley can be seen. The family has a picnic on the grass. A small boy toddles towards the car with a bottle in his mouth.
Intertitle – Wharfedale
The valley is shown from various vantage points, and then they set off again filming from the car as they drive through the Dale. They stop at Burnsall, showing cows and calves. There are more views of the valley, and a large group of people gathered on a hill and walking along the rocks. Again there are views of the valley, and a boy playing with his grandmother. There is footage of Aysgarth Falls before a speedboat arrives at a pier on a lake, with a woman walking away holding a child. Several water skiers are shown. The film switches to a boy walking over some rocks by a stream, and a sunset. The film switches again to a farmer clearing a path through very deep snow with his tractor.
Intertitle – Bedale
A family group make their way to St Gregory’s Church on a summer’s day. Some of the stain glassed windows are shown. There is a sign for Richmond and they visit the tower, looking down on the town from the top and looking around the grounds. There is a close up of a woman. The sign for the Green Dragon Inn is shown. They take a walk along the river to Hardrow Falls and the film comes to an end.
