This film is about Heath Common Fair, Wakefield, and includes extensive footage of the fairground rides and games and which have been set up for this busy day.
The film begins with long shots of the Heath, AND the car park begins to fill up with cars including, Ford Capris, VW Campers, Morris Minors and Minis. Passengers begin to make their way from the car park to the fair.
People of all ages are entering the fair which is complete with colourful rides and stands. There are brightly coloured swing boats, donkey rides, and casino games including many slot machines and a roulette wheel. Crowds of people bustle around the Fair, and here the film provides great examples of 1970s everyday fashion. The film continues with shots of the dodgems and the candy floss stall including close ups of people eating. People are trying to win prizes at penny stalls, and there is a close up of a large Womble.
There are good shots of children on a merry-go-round with planes and teenagers on the Wurlitzer and Octopus rides. This is followed by footage of the Fun House, and signs include Meet the Diddy People, etc. There is an exterior view of the Horror ride. The film closes with long shots of the Heath and people eating ice creams as they leave the site.
