This film was made as a tourist guide to Yorkshire for a friend, as a record of their visit.
The film begins with the following titles:
Our flights bring England closer to you with the lasting pleasures of the Rose Counties.
It continues with scenes of the arrival and departure lounge of Leeds Bradford airport and a flight landing from Guernsey. There are shots of the plane and the travellers alighting.
The next scenes are of Roundhay Park, in Leeds. There are children playing, and beautiful flowers blooming. The camera follows the friends as they tour the park.
The next scenes are of York, beginning with the new Barbican building. There is also footage of the old Barbican and city walls, Walmgate, Shambles, Petergate, and the Market. There are good views of buskers in the streets, young children eating fish and chips and elderly people walking through the streets. This part of the film contains very good footage of the centre of York.
The next shots are at Lotherton Hall near Leeds, with views of the gardens and grounds.
The next sequence is of the North York Moors which contains footage of a shepherd herding sheep in the traditional way. There is a red Royal Mail van parked in the middle of the moors.
The next section shows a farm near Beverley. The farm is open to the public and has sheep, goats, chickens, etc. There are good shots of animals and country scenes.
The Humber Bridge is under construction, and work is under way on the tops of the tower. Following this are shots of family pets in Wrenthorpe and New Millerdam Country Park.
The film ends with scenes of the airport and the guests leaving. They are getting on a G-BOOH plane. The shot shows the plane taking off.
