The film opens with shots of the countryside and back gardens covered in frost and ice. There are shots of icicles, thick frost on the trees and close ups of birds on feeders in a frosty tree.
Next is a scene of the river which will soon overflow. As it begins to flood, the water can be seen moving very fast.
Later, the town is covered in deep snow and residents are shown clearing their paths and drives. Out in the countryside, children and families go sledging down a long hill. Ducks and swans walk on the frozen water, and the film closes with more footage of the back gardens covered in snow.
