A fisherman stood on the edge of a river is trying to take the hook out of the mouth of a fish. Intertitle - Hon. Sec. Dennis and Father Two men exchange money out in a field, while another walks past with a net. Intertitle - A Nice Fish Several men are fishing on a riverbank, with a boys and a dog looking on. Intertitle - Saltaire Angling Club. Open Match 1951 A large group of men wait for their positions to be assigned. Most of the men are smoking. Intertitle - The Draw A man picks tokens out of a sack to allocate the fishermen places along the riverbank. Most of the men are bundled up, dressed in heavy overcoats. The men and some of the boys make their way to the riverbank. Intertitle - A few of the experts Small groups of men walk towards camera as they carrying their fishing tackle. The men walk along the path next to the river bank, and set themselves up. One fisherman has a drink out of a flask. A large group gather next to a building. One man throws bait out onto the river. Another holds up his catch for the camera, and puts it into a net. A woman accompanies one the fishermen. At the end of the day they make their way back to the starting place and relax with tea, and money is given out, either as betting winnings or as prize money. The End
