Made by an amateur filmmaker based in Sheffield, this film includes extensive footage of a family trip along the Norfolk Broads. The film is made up of black and white and colour footage and includes scenic views of the surrounding countryside taken from the boat.
The film opens with scenes of boats on the Norfolk Broads. Some of the boats are moored along the edges of the water while others sail down the Broads. There is footage taken from a boat as it sails on the water. Other boats on the water can be seen as well the buildings and landscape which line the water. Both sail and motorboats can be seen. There is a close up of a little girl who holds a life preserver up to look through the hole in the middle.
The boat docks, and the family make their way off the boat and into the town centre. The little girl gets some candy floss, and there is a shot of a long pier at the seaside. Most of the people walking along the boardwalk and on the sand are dressed in long coats even though it is a sunny day. There is a brief shot of a helicopter in the sky, and the little girl goes on a donkey ride. She later rides horse-drawn buggy. There is more footage of some of the rides at the pier.
Now back on the boat, there is extensive footage of the journey along the Broads. Later, the family pulls into dock, and other boats can be seen moored along the sides of the water. Nearby buildings can also be seen. There is a brief scene taken at an outdoor swimming pool. The pool is filled with children, and a man teaches one of the children how to swim by holding him in a harness at the side of the pool. Following this is more scenic footage of the Broads.
A new day on holiday, and the family make their way back onto the boat. There is more footage of the family includes in the scenic shots of the countryside which are taken from the boat. The family stop and pull into dock. Here they watch a motorbike race which takes place in a small arena before heading back to the water. They briefly pull over again and spend some time playing in a field. Back on the boat, two of the men can be seen standing on deck. They are both wearing hats and smiling for the camera. There is a small rowboat attached to the back of the large boat, and the women and children get into the smaller boat. They hang their feet off the side and drag them in the water. They pass a tackle shop, Ernest Collins & Sons Ltd, located in Wroxham, Norfolk. Again, there is more footage of the boats and landscape which they pass on the water. There is a brief shot of women preparing lunch inside, and everyone on board waves from the deck of the boat, and one of the couples does a little dance.
Further along the river, the holidaymakers dock again. Here they play at a park, riding swings, going down a tall slide, and playing on the merry-go-round. The film ends more footage taken from the boat as well brief scenes of the passengers eating lunch below deck.
Part two of this film is in colour. The film opens with a shot of the harbour and all the members of the group gathered on the deck of the boat. Again, there is scenic footage taken along their journey, and there are a few shots of some of the towns at which they stopped. At one point, the family are in their swimming costumes and play about in the shallow end of the water. A little girl feeds some birds, and a steam train passes by. There are many shots of all those on board as they enjoy the relaxing trip on the Norfolk Broads on this sunny day. They stop at a seaside town, and the little girl plays on some of the fair rides including a merry-go-round and a small rollercoaster. There are many types of boats out on the water including larger tour boats. Once back at port, the family takes time to play at the playground, riding on the swings and going down the slide. The film ends with a brief shot of two of the women on the boat.
