Title - Gatehouse of Fleet A run up to Glen Trool The film opens with scenic views of the hilly landscape. There is a stream which people use stepping stones to cross. Title - Gatehouse of Fleet The Gatehouse hotel. There are exterior shots of the hotel and the quiet town centre road nearby. Title - Water ski-ing & bathing from the beach at - Sand Green. Title - 2nd September Silvia. Brown. To Henry M. Watson Members of the wedding party, including a flower girl and ring bearer, wait outside the church. The bride and groom exit the church, briefly posing in front before getting into a car. Wedding guests then crowd around outside before making their way to the reception. Title - The Reception at Monk Fryston. The wedding reception is held outside at the gardens of the stately home. Guests chat and help themselves to refreshments on this sunny day. Title - Phyllis & Kennth [sic] sail for America on the ss "Sylvania." The ship is docked in the harbour. Title - Stocking the river at West Tanfield. Fishermen gather around a large metal bucket filled with fish. One of the men holds a fish up for the camera. The men then sweep water in a large, wooden structure, possibly a fish hatchery used to stock the river for fishing season. The next section of the film documents a trip in the Mediterranean, and footage is preceded by descriptive intertitles. Title - In May we sailed on the ss"Bravo" for western Mediterranean Ports. Title - Calling at - Lisbon Gibraltar Genoa Leghorn Naples Salerno & Valencia Title - Getting to know our fellow passengers. A group of holidaymakers lounge in the sun on the deck of the cruise ship. Title - The Botanical Gardens Title - Lisbon We had a run southward to-wards Setubal. Stopped at a wine makers for a taster. Title - The coastline round Setubal was very picturesque. Title - Passing the ss"Dunera" on a childrens educational cruise. Title - Our next port of call was Genoa. We were held up here for a dock strike. Title - The Japanese Floating Fair arrives. Title - Entering the next Port of call "Leghorn." Here we took on a load of Marble also visited - Pisa. Title - The Cathedral & Basilica at Pisa. Title - Pisa. Views from the top of the Leaning Tower. Title - Tirrenia. We spent an enjoyable day bathing here. Title - The Captain commences to make a garden seat. Title - Sardine fishing. Title - Leghorn. Tons of white marble comes aboad. [sic] Title - Leaving Leghorn we sail for Naples. We had 4 days stay here due to a customs strike. Title - Passing the island of Ponza. Title - Naples Here we took a coach tour round this most beautiful coast road to Amalfi & Sorrento. Title - En route calling at a Cameo Factory & Pompeii. Title - Pompeii. Title - Amalfi. One of the resorts on this wonderful coast. Had lunch here. Title - Naples A small fishing village in the cleft of the rocks. Title - A street in Naples. Title - Vesuvius from the ship. Title - The Captain's seat begins to take shape. Title - We spent two most enjoy-able days on the island of Ischia. An unspoilt Italian island. Title - We pass many islands en route. Title - Ischia The main shopping street. Title - A hydroplane passes. Title - There were several pleasant bathing beaches. Such as - Title - Our next port was - Salerno. Here we loaded many tons of tinned tomatoes. Title - The Nunnery on the mountain top. From which, it is said, the nuns threw themselves to escape approaching Nazis. Title - Gathering mussels - they seem to be a favourite food of the locals. Title - The barber comes aboard & did good business. Title - Boat drill. Title - On our way home we call at Valencia. Here we loaded 300 tons of onions. Title - Dolphins - at play round our prow. Title - Gibraltar in sight. Title - Firing the salute in honour of the Queen's Birthday. Title - ss"Bravo" The Captain's garden seat is finished - & so is our most enjoyable holiday.
