The film opens with shots from the promenade at Whitby looking out to the very rough sea and the cliffs. The sea crashes up over the railings and some people jump back. There are more shots taken from down on a part of the beach; the sea rushes all the way up the sandy cove and reaches the cliff walls. There is a shot of Whitby Harbour and a lot of people can be seen standing on a bridge overlooking the rough sea. There are many more shots of the stormy weather, and two women and a little girl stand on the promenade next to the railing. The wind blusters and whips around them as they pose for the camera, and they have to hold there cloche hats on their heads and also hold onto the railing. The final shots show the waves getting higher and higher throughout the film.
