This is the second part of a film documenting the work of the R.N.L.I at Flamborough. The film also shows a day in the life of working fishermen out of Flamborough.
The film goes on to show two demonstrations of a life boat drill and a coast guard lifesaving apparatus drill. A bearing is taken of a vessel in distress, the necessary people are informed and various distress flares are sent up to alert the lifeboat crew. A tractor towing a trailer is loaded with lifesaving equipment. The Lifeboat is launched, views of the lifeboat out in a choppy sea. Back on dry land the lifeboat volunteers are transported by tractor trailer to the drill assembly point.
Two men are lowered down the cliff to the casualty. Equipment is put in place on the cliff edge and the injured parties are seen being hauled up the cliff edge by the men at the top using a pulley system. He is then resuscitated, placed on a stretcher and treated for shock and burns by the Red Cross volunteers.
The film returns to the lifeboat as it returns to the lifeboat house on the North Landing at Flamborough and is hauled up the slipway. A merchant ship passes the bay in the background.
There is a close up of a plaque listing the lifeboat men who lost their lives at Flamborough. The lifeboat men are seen going about their daily business as postman, stationer etc. The film closes with views of the two flags flying at the coastguard station and the coastguard hoisting up the gale warning cone.
