A home movie produced by Raymond Rourke featuring himself, his wife Margaret, and daughter Carrie planting 'Super Tattie' potato seeds in the garden of the family home at New Ridley Road in Stocksfield, Northumberland. They work together to help grow both the potatoes and other vegetables before harvesting.
A pair of hands holds up a small cardboard box on which is written ‘Super Tatties’. The box is placed on the doorstep of a house, the door opens and a woman and small girl come out. They open the box and take out and look at a potato seed before making their way around the side of the house into the garden.
The girl, now wearing a cap, holds up the ‘Super Tatties’ box while beside her a hand holds a piece of paper.
A man carrying a spade and the girl come into the garden, he waves at the camera as he passes. Working together they make a circle in the vegetable patch and the man begins to dig a small hole. Compost is added followed by one of the potato seeds which is then covered over after some fertilizer is added. A marker is placed in the potato patch that reads ‘Here Lives Super Tatties’.
Sometime later a woman digs in the earth taking out a leek which she holds up to the camera. The girl digs in the earth with the spade nearby.
The woman pushes a wheelbarrow into the garden and using a pitchfork begins to dig over the potato patch. The man picks a number of small potatoes from the earth and tosses them into the wheelbarrow, beside them the ‘Super Tatties’ marker. In total six small potatoes are in the wheelbarrow.
