The Wagon, driven by Wagoner Arthur Oaks and drawn by the horses Duke and Prince, is carrying supplies to the front line in WWI. There are explosions and bombs falling. The music is a slow hymn tune. There is a terrible explosion, and Prince is injured. Wagoner Oaks calls for help. The message arrives at the hospital. The hors- drawn ambulance, driven by Percy Brown and pulled by the horse Mary, races to the rescue. Prince is loaded up and is driven quickly to the veterinary hospital.
At the hospital, the vet and veterinary nurse treat Prince. The nurse bandages his leg. He gets lots to eat and recovers. He is reunited with Arthur Oaks and Duke.

Context
This film tells the fictional story of an ambulance held in the collection of the Museum of the Wagoners Special Reserve. It was produced by the Museum and funded by the Arts Council England through the Humberside Museums Partnership. They worked with Children from Sledmere Primary School who worked with Griselda Goldsbrough to draw the pictures. The music was chosen, rehearsed, and played by the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band Training Band, conductor Jeanette Kendall. The film was put together and edited as an animation by Andy Burns. Curator Martin Watts.
