The film opens with a shot of a car boarding the Silver City Aeroplane in Dover, Kent. From the plane, views capture the take-off, followed by aerial shots of the sea and land as it travels towards France. The sequence also features some underexposed footage inside the plane showing the silhouette of the filmmaker's wife. The film then cuts to an airfield in Spain, showing the silver city aeroplane at parked on the tarmac and a car reversing from its cargo hold.
The next sequence opens with a shot from the car's interiors with the wife driving the car, followed by views of countryside, trees, the regional architecture and a blacksmith shoeing a horse. As they pass through a large town there are scenes that capture a river, old houses and people generally going about their business. The filmmaker continues to film as they enter the town from the front of the vehicle, choosing to move to the rear of the car as they leave the rural town.
A long sequence captures rural roads and the pleasant scenery as they travel through the countryside, catching glimpses of agricultural labourers working in fields. They then stop for a picnic, before moving on to an old town with typically rustic Spanish architecture.
In a hotel, Shirley (Roger Drury's wife) opens two Venetian doors to reveal a dramatic view of a church with lots of smaller houses dotted around it. There are then views of the town from ground level, before the road trip resumes; there are views of fields being ploughed with horses and tracking shots as the car drives down avenues lined with trees.
They then come to a beach resort, most probably on the south coast of France. There are views of the long coastline - umbrellas neatly lining the beach. There are also palm trees and tourists enjoying the sunshine. The journey continues along a beautiful rocky coastline and to another resort- possibly Monte Carlo. A hotel and fountain is shown as well as restaurants and some boats in the harbour. The film closes with some shots of trains.
