This film is a record of the York Heworth Brownies' annual trip to the village of Burnsall, just north of the city. Title - 30 Heworth Brownies Pack Holiday 1979 The film opens on a sunny day at the Brownie headquarters- which doubles as the York Scout Centre in Heworth. The Brownies are ready in their uniforms. They stand patiently with their families and the Brown Owls waiting for the coach to arrive. When it reaches them, their suitcases are loaded up whilst interior scenes show the girls taking their seats in the coach before it pulls away. Sign - Burnsall Shots from a car show the scenic surrounding countryside. They arrive at their destination of Burnsall Hall in which they will stay for the duration of their trip. After unpacking, they set off into the countryside where they picnic by a river. They are accompanied by both Brown Owl and some Girl Guides that have joined the trip. Later the girls eat dinner on trestle tables that have been set up in the hall. Title - Monday The girls in the hall put their beds away as the makeshift dining hall is also used as somewhere for them to sleep. Exterior scenes then show them on a countryside nature walk where they stop to feed some ducks. Title - Thursday At the end of the trip, the girls return to the Brownie Headquarters in York where they are greeted by their parents who have gathered awaiting their return. Title - The End
