Swimming Races (Black and White 1960s)
The film opens at an indoor swimming pool where we see a group of boys taking part in various swimming races. The camera follows them as they jump in and race up the pool. Different scenes show other people diving into the pool including some girls who appear to be lining up for a race. The film then cuts to show a group of tents set up at the bottom of a mountain area. Some people stand outside and talk to one another. A man gets some snow in and pan and goes to back his tent where he precedes to melt it over a small stove. Panning shots show the wintry countryside before there are more scenes back at the campsite with people melting snow.
Trip to London (Colour 1954-1974?)
The film opens on a sunny day with a long shot of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben with London buses passing by. The film then cuts to Trafalgar Square where the filmmaker's wife poses with some pigeons on her outstretched arm. There are various views of the street and an old man - possibly at Hyde Park Corner – speaking to a crowd. From a boat we see the familiar architecture along the river Thames such as Somerset House, St Paul's Cathedral and Tower Bridge. The film closes with a shot of a guard marching at a castle.
Filmmaker’s children (late 60's Colour)
The film opens showing the filmmaker’s daughter in a garden swinging on a swing, the camera zooming in and out to show her go back and forth. She then sits on the grass and ties bows on an object briefly looking up to the camera. The film then cuts to another day and shows her climbing a sculpture in a park. There are shots of a lily pond before we see her run around. Returning to the garden we then see the girl's brother hanging upside down on a pole. The film closes at a beach- possibly Scarborough- where the children take donkey rides along the beach. It is a sunny day and the beach is full of holiday makers.
Sailing on the Norfolk Broads. (1960s Colour)
The film opens with a tracking shot taken from the Norfolk Broads showing the busy waterway with many sailing boats. The filmmaker then shows the group on the boat and then the surrounding banks and houses. They pass under small bridge and the final shot shows two women looking from the bank as the boat passes.
Norfolk (1964 Colour)
The film opens on a sunny day on a busy sandy beach and shows the filmmaker’s daughter having an ice cream, meanwhile the son plays leapfrog with his mother. A brief sequence then shows a man, smoking a pipe, women and child stand outside a house. The film cuts back to the seaside and we see the children in the shallows of the sea splashing about. The father and son take a short canoe ride along a part of the Norfolk Broads whilst the daughter stand on a grassy bank throwing food to a swan. Brief scenes show the family play cricket together before the film closes with two boys playing in the sand.
Bees (1971)
A film shot in the filmmaker’s garden showing bees pollinating various colourful flowers.
