Filmed from the flight deck of a British Midlands McDonnell Douglas DC-9 aircraft, a recording of a commercial flight from Teesside Airport near Darlington in County Durham to Heathrow Airport.
An aircraft parked near the terminal building at Teesside Airport near Darlington in County Durham changes to the flight deck where the captain and first officer go through a checklist in preparation for take-off. They check over instruments making the correct calibrations and speak with the control tower.
The aircraft begins to taxi towards the runway as the captain and first officer continue to go through their checks. In position and with permission given for take-off the aircraft picks up speed along the runway. Rising into the air the flight crew continue to check instruments as it reaches a cruising altitude.
Flying above the cloud layer the captain and first officer continue to check instruments, the captains taking down details on a clipboard. He is in regular contact with air traffic control at various points along his route. The aircraft banks left under instruction from the control tower. Later in the flight it banks right.
The captain and first officer continue to check instruments passing details to air traffic controls as the flight continues. They begin to make their decent towards Heathrow Airport speaking with air traffic control with regards position and conditions on the ground. The skyline of London appears through the clouds as the aircraft continues its approach lining up with their assigned runway.
The aircraft comes into land and the brakes are applied. On the grounds the plane taxi’s towards its assigned gate passing many other aircraft parked at various gates in the terminal building. The captain and first office go through land checklist as they continue to taxi.
