Title - Bronze Award expedition to North Wales, Easter 1962
During the expedition in North Wales, the boys hike through the mountains. Also featured is canoeing on Wastwater and the ascent of Scafell Pike.
Other outings of the group include football on Scarborough beach during a day trip. And canoeing at Gargrave on the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
The next scene captures the arrival of Sir John Hunt, chief of the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme. He visits Moor Grange School in Leeds for a gathering of all the Duke of Edinburgh groups in Leeds.
YABC Athletics at Hosfall Playing Fields, Bradford
The next scene involves a charity cricket match at Roundhay Park - Market District vs. Yorkshire All-Stars. The all-stars team included Jimmy Savile (with white Stetson and large winkle-pickers), Ian Campbell (wrestler) accompanied by his piper, Harold Williams (late of Leeds United), Arthur Clues (Rugby League), Shirley Crabtree (wrestler), and others.
The club's staging post on the way to the Cairngorms was near a cottage on the Clyde south of Lanark (owned by the filmmaker's aunt and uncle). It provided a break in the journey north. The falls of Clyde were nearby and can be seen being explored by the club members.
Also seen is the Ascent of Ben Nevis as well as Glenmore Lodge. This is a camp site near Aviemore. During this time, the campsite was just a field, and it was only later developed into the tourist site of today.
Next the boys hike at the Ascent of Cairngorm. This scene is filmed from the ski-lift, which had just been completed.
The film also features outings at Loch A'an in the middle of the Cairngorms, camping on the side of the Clyde at Lanark, and a vehicle accident on Marsh Lane just outside the club.
The film closes with a Football match at Otley against West Juniors.
