It shows the school at Crambeck (close to the village of Welburn, near Malton, North Yorkshire, aka Castle Howard Farm School and Castle Howard Approved School) in their Coronation Games in 1953 and celebrations of the School Centenary in 1955.
A group of men and women are arriving at the school; many are shown close up chatting, with most of the women in fur coats. One elderly man salutes to the camera. Then the boys of the school line up in the playground and make their way to their classes. One man seems to be giving his autograph to a couple of boys.

Some boys have a race on stilts. Then all the boys, in stocking feet, have a mass scramble, fighting for a pair of plimsolls, which the winner puts on, and with adults looking on from the side. Next up is some kind of race which involves boys exchanging their clothes for women’s or adult’s clothing. Another race involves putting ones head into a bucket. One of the smaller boys is helped to use the stilts. The boys then all sit on the grass to listen to a man giving a speech, with the vicar and others who look on. The boys then hold silver spoons that they have been given up for the camera. One man, possibly the PE teacher, and a caretaker, are shown up close, and the PE teacher has a go on some stilts.
There is then a game of cricket including both boys and adults. As the second team come into bat two boys take to the crease, with the vicar giving his observations from the side. Then adults come into bat, with someone taking a photograph. After the game the Mayor and Mayoress tour the vegetable gardens with some boys and adults. One man shells some peas and eats them.
In an office, there is a young woman is making a drawing of the proposed farm building for Castle Howard School for the City Architects of Kingston upon Hull. The drawing is shown. A group of boys are putting the finishing touches on a model of the planned buildings. A sign on a gate shows ‘Greets Farm’, where workmen are laying the foundations for the buildings. A car arrives bringing a local dignitary, who watches while a bricklayer puts up a wall. Elsewhere on the farm cows are being fed in a shed.

A Rolls Royce (reg. LKH1) arrives at the school, bringing the Mayor, who chats with other men also sporting ceremonial chains. The boys, all in their best school uniform, line up in the playground while the guests stand around chatting. The guests then take tea in the school gardens. The vicar and the PE teacher are present. A boy stands with a jackdaw on his shoulder. The guests then make their way to the playing field where they see a boy’s display of various athletic activities, mostly involving holding long logs. They then have another game involving swapping clothing, with the jackdaw making numerous appearances. The guests then take a tour of the cow shed, followed by a tour of the school, where boys are working on making wooden models. They also inspect some of the farm produce, while some smaller children ride on rocking horses. The film finishes with some boys inspecting some silverware on display on a table.
