Description
An amateur record of the Dolebusters '86 Concert features six local Sheffield bands performing on stage inside the Nelson Mandela building at Sheffield City Polytechnic on 20th September, 1986. The performing featured are The Masons, Spoon, The Detail, The Bland, Doobree Furkin and the Battered Forburger Band, and The Confident Tricksters.
To the Peter Gabriel’s hit ‘Big Time’ the opening credit written on a piece of paper and held up to the camera.

Video effects are used on the first group performing their first track on stage.
Title: The Masons
The band tune up their instruments and perform three more songs, again video effects are used throughout. Their set come to an end and the audience applaud as they leave the stage.
Title: Spoon
A compare comes to the microphone as the second band prepare in the background. He talks about the ‘Dolebusters’ Festival and invites members of the audience to come up on stage and participate.
Following a brief intermission Spoon begin to perform their set at the end of which the audience applaud as they leave the stage.
Title: The Detail
The compare returns to the microphone as members of The Detail set up behind him, they perform their set with several video effects used throughout. Again, their set ends and the audience applaud as they leave the stage as the compare returns to introduce the next band.
Title: The Bland
The group begin to perform their set with the lead singer addressing the crowd before each song. He runs up and down the stage while singing, again video effects are used. Their set comes to an end and the lead singer swears at the crowd in jest before leaving the stage.
The compare comes back on stage to introduce the next band and to provide details of what their name means.
Title: Doobree Furkin and the Battered Forburger Band
As the band performs, a small group of fans dance frenetically in front of the stage. The lead singer introduces each of the songs the group performs. The band’s performance comes to an end and someone in the audience shouts ‘More!’.
Title: The Confident Tricksters
The final band of the evening begins to perform on stage to what appears to be an empty hall. Their set ends and over the Eurythmics singing ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves’ the closing credits.
