Many of the shop front windows have been specially done up for the holidays, and all the Christmas merchandise on display including house items such as lamps and dinnerware as well as a variety of toys. Title - Newsreel 1961-2 (HCC) Garden Party at White Windows Cheshire Home The film opens with two women and a man standing at a podium situated in front of the large white windows. The man and woman are guests at the Garden party and actors from the soap opera Coronation Street. One of them makes a speech, and there are shots of the crowd gathered for the event. There are different carnival games set up, and near one of them there is a sign reading: Minerals Crisps FTC. There is a small boy standing in front of the sign drinking from a Coke bottle. Many of the people in attendance write on small cards which are attached to helium-filled balloons. Once the cards are attached, the balloons are let go into the sky. Other carnival games can be seen, and there are also children playing on swings and a merry-go-round. The film closes with a final shot of the Coronation Street celebrities.
