Part of the Wainwright Collection, this is a film of the 1934 Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race and of Dog World.
The film begins with a man and two women putting their hands up to their hats. Their backs are to a river, possibly at Mortlake Brewery. Several boats pass by before the two university rowing boats come into view and pass by. One is several lengths in front of another and is followed by several other boats all in a line. There are also many more boats of many types. From on board a boat, the film passes under Hammersmith Suspension Bridge and further along the Thames.
In a park, there is a woman and man in top hat and tails who are attending a dog show. (The film is damaged here - shop front selling silks at half price summer sale?).
End Title - 'The Boat Race 1934'
