The film opens with girl guides who gather at the gates of a fun fair. In the distance people are walking around the fair and going on the various attractions.
A farmer walks through the farm yard with a cow attached to a lead. The farmer leads the cow into the trailer parked by the stables. A large variety of tractors, combine harvesters, and other farming machinery are on display at the Market Weighton Farmer's Show. Stalls are set up with various products such as a show tent organised by the Yorkshire Electricity Board and Dale Electric. A tent is arranged with a wide variety of cookers and stoves along with kitchen utensils and pots and pans.
Children bob for ducks in a large metal barrel. The farmers compete in different competitions to win prizes for the best sheep, pigs, horses and cows. The judges approach each animal and inspect them individually. The winners of the competitions are awarded prizes and the first place winner receives a trophy. Farmers and their families walk around the farmers show looking at the different events that are taking place. In the arena a variety of horse events take place including a polo match, gymkhana and chariot racing.
