This film is a compilation of three films of family trips to Scarborough. The film includes scenic footage of the seaside town as well as scenes of the family during their leisure time. Film One - Title - Family Album 1952. A speed boat crashes through the waves off shore. The family climb up the rocky cliffs together. In the valley bellow, a car drives through the hills. Two women and a little girl walk along the cliff tops together. Film Two - The family walk along the beach together and paddle in the sea. They take it in turns to throw balls and knock the target. A baby is sitting in a pram on the beach. The waves crash against the beach as the children run around on the sand and jump of their fathers back. The women walk along the beach with the pram. Two women hold the baby up on the sand and splay water on its feet. Four women wearing head scarves walk along the rocky shore line. The family sit together by the rock pools where they eat a picnic together. They then come out of a cabin building carrying belongings to the cars in the car park. Outside the children take it in turns to jump over a pile of hay. Two boys jump first followed by a girl who falls and the father who runs to jump on top of her before she moves out of the way. The mother helps the little girl jump. A little girl walks past a man in a cap cutting grass with sheers. A girl jumps over the pile of hay. Two women hold the little girls hands as they swing her in the air. The girls run around in the garden as the mother watches from the window. The family plays football and catch on the beach as the girls run around waving sticks. The adults watch the children building sand castles before the little girl puts on wellington boots. Several cars and motor bikes are racing down a village road as the family stand next to the road watching them. The family walk along together on the beach and pebble in the sea. The two girls splash around in the water. In a garden the father turns the soil in the flower beds as they two girls water the flowers with a watering can. Several cars and busses are parked in a field. The family stand back and watch cars race around a track. Inside a house the family help each other to wash the dishes. Sign - Model Railway - Entrance - Fares Adults 6 Children 3. The children sit on the miniature train ride as it races forwards and backwards along the track. Film Three - A ferry pulls out of the harbour, and a sailor walks along the docks wearing his uniform. The sailors on the boat wave to the people on the docks as they head out to sea. A large liner passes the harbour. Down a country lane there is a sing post next to the road "Come to Good". Cars board a cargo ferry and cross the water. The family are on the beach near many rock pools. Crowds of people are gathered on the sea front looking at a boat on the water. This is followed by views of the docks, harbour and cliffs. Three women walk along together down a country path. Exterior of church building as three women walk out of the church doors. Families are gathered at the side of a road as a parade passes. Many children skip along and dance in the road in the parade. A brass band marches in the parade. The parade passes the docks with people rowing a boat below. Girls stand next to a pond with water lilies on the surface. At the zoo the family looks at animals together including polar bears, penguins and giraffes. Woman stands next to the baby in the pram and little girl stands with her father. Woman stands next to a washing line filled with aprons. Two women play cards together on the garden patio overlooking the beach below. Ferries and boats are waiting in the harbour. The family stand near the light house and docks watching sea gulls fly over the cliffs. A little girl walks along the path down a residential street. The film closes with crowds who are gathered next to the road as motor bikes and cars go by in a race.
