Title - Spotlight On Youth Presenting the Lightcliffe Scout Band
The Lightcliffe Scout Band, consisting of drums and trumpets, are lined up in a field. They play before they begin marching towards the camera. They do an about turn and march away from the camera, changing formations. The commentary informs that the Band was formed over 12 years ago. The front cover of Baden Powell's 'Scouting for Boys' is shown before showing boys putting up tents and cooking outdoors. The commentary states that in 1982, the band changed from bugles to e flat trumpets. The band is out practicing in their normal clothing, with Nick Lawton the drum major showing off his skills. The drummers are practising, whilst others are practicing their marching steps, followed by the trumpeters.
In the next scene, girl guides practicing a routine with flags. At Piece Hall in Halifax, a crowd watches as both groups put on a combined performance. A front cover is shown of a booklet for the Annual Field day for Longroyde Junior School for Saturday 9th July, 1983. The two groups are again performing in a school field, the girls dressed as majorettes. At the end there are scenes of the cups, certificates and trophies they have won.
