This film contains footage of a Hunslet Boys Club camp and shows the camp being set up, the young campers arriving, the activities that they take part in, and the day trips that they go on including the fun fair and drives along the coast. The club was established in 1940 by Dr. J. Wyllie as a way of offering young people the chance to improve their skills in areas such as sports, crafts, karate, and IT. It was an opportunity for recreation and friendship and the motto was "Fitness for Life".
The film opens with a lorry reversing in through a gate, and the driver is directed by a young man. A large, white, gazebo is erected in a field, and all around it young men are setting up tents and laying out bedding and floor coverings.
Cars arrive in the camp, and young boys get out with their camping gear and join in the set up. Some of them play football, and some others can be seen playing guitars. Most of the young campers wave and smile at the camera as they walk past. They are then brought for a run into another field and practice throwing the ball around.
A bus drives along beside the sea in the rain; a little harbour can be seen. The bus arrives at the destination and all of the boys file off the coach. There is a sign for `Braithwaite's Coaches' is on the side of the coach.
The film ends with the campers' trip to the fun fair. Here, the campers go on bumper cars, flying spaceship swings, a `twist ride' and a rollercoaster.
