This film is part of a three film collection focusing on racing driver Trevor Twaites, documenting races in which he participated. All of the films within this collection were commissioned on behalf of the British Racing & Sports Car Club (Northern centre).
In terms of visual composition, the camera throughout the collection is positioned at eye level with the race track, thus the filmmaker is able to replicate the type shots a professional television company might produce, which is thanks to unrestricted access to the racetrack and behind the scenes areas.
The film opens with a shot of Trevor Twaites and two other men sitting on a car park fence next to his orange Chevron B.16. Various checks are made on the car before the Chevron pulls away onto the racetrack. The car quickly returns to the pit lane, and there are several shots of the car's interior and engine. Trevor and another man walk across the forecourt carrying travel bags, then a mechanic drinks a cup of tea with the chevron in the background. The Chevron is checked over again by a mechanic, who once satisfied, pushes the car onto a trailer and drives away. The final shots in this sequence briefly show a detached house.
At a racetrack, racing cars speed round the various corners jostling for position, and Trevor's car passes by the camera several times. Next, there are shots of racing cars lining up on the starting grid, then accelerating away. Cutting to the pit lanes, there are shots of race organisers checking stopwatches, recording lap times and updating scoreboards. Trevor and other members of his team, dressed predominantly in fashions typical of the 1970s, stand around the Chevron and talk. On the race tracks home straight, a chequered flag signals the end of the race as racing cars speed past. Mechanics inspect the racing cars; while a driver sits patiently waiting in his blue race car, then another race gets underway. Trevor's Chevron drives down the home straight, speeding past the camera in the closing shot.
A large crowd gathers in the midst of a car park surrounded by tour buses and parked cars. The filmmaker then focuses in on a tour bus marked with 'Trevor Twaites'. The crowd is being addressed by a man equipped with a megaphone, and advertising boards are clearly visible in the background. Trevor stands amongst the crowd, listening attentively. Next, a driver is interviewed by a man with a microphone. In the background, Trevor can be seen talking to another man. This is followed by static shots of the race cars that participated in the previous races, and a driver's name is visible on some of the race cars, such as a white car which is driven by 'Bob Walker'. Next the filmmaker cuts to mechanics working on scaled down versions of formula 1 race cars. Now on the grid, the drivers sit in their cars talking with crew members. The filmmaker then pays careful attention to each car, using prolonged static shots to show the cars design and sponsors decals. The race begins, and the powerful race cars shoot round the track.
Away from the race, the next scene is the rear of a traditional road car, and a stencil on the back reads 'Demon Tweaks'. A variety of pit lane shots follow before the Chevron lines up again on the Gird. Trevor smiles at the camera from the driver's seat, and the filmmaker then captures other drivers mentally preparing for the race ahead. The race starts, and as the cars bear down on the first corner, two cars spin off the track and a man runs onto the track waving a flag. A driver walks away from the accident unscathed. The filmmaker then records the race from several different corners, paying particular attention to Trevor's Chevron and a large broadcast camera, which is also filming the race.
Spectators are gathered along a stretch of waist height picket fence. At the end of the race, the winning driver, who waves from the sunroof of the official course car. Finally, the filmmaker briefly captures the start of two other races; featuring less powerful racing cars.
Tow men drive a box car with a sign that reads 'Wetherby round table 699' and 'Hunters Armley.' They guide it down a gentle slope avoiding hay bales. Next, a silver box car that has 'Keighley Round table 63' written on the side, attempts the same slope and several spectators can be seen enjoying the race. The filmmaker then cuts away to two girls, who are provocatively dressed in typical 70s wear. Sitting astride a two seater box car, they pose for the camera. The last shot of this sequence shows a field full of people who are looking at the stationary box cars, most of the box cars have a sticker which reads 'Burhman'.
A car travels down a motorway towing Trevor's Chevron B.16 behind it, cut to inside, and Trevor is driving the car. A road sign for 'Dover' follows. Then the car and trailer drive onto a ferry, and the car and trailer are then driving down a French motorway. The driver follows a sign for Marseille and Bollene. A melange of race enthusiasts, mechanics and drivers stand around a pit lane enduring the rain. The race car drivers line up on the grid and wait for the race to start. Final checks are made, and then the race cars (including Trevor's Chevron B.16) drive quickly round various bends. The race ends and people stand around looking at the cars.
The final race is a popular event and a large group of race cars gather on the starting grid. The cars speed towards the first corner, and two cars lose control spinning out onto the sand. Spectators watch behind a wired fence while the cars race past. Various shots show French police men overseeing the event, and spectators standing on a raised platform watching the race. The final sequence takes place at a French hotel, with Trevor and others relaxing by the pool.
