Part of the Bradford College Collection, this film documents some of the building works which took place at the college.
The film opens with a shot of a plaque on a wall which reads `This memorial stone was laid June 16th 1880 by the Master of the Worshipful Company of Clothmakers of the city of London. Liet. Col. John Britten'. Following this shot the camera moves along to film the walls, the college buildings, the road and the traffic.
A Quantity Surveyor looks through a level and indicates to someone out of shot. The next shots are taken from a height looking down onto the construction site. The Quantity Surveyor carries the level across the site and sets it up a bit further away.
There are shots of the early stages of fencing around the site, and of the diggers work on it. There are more shots taken from above looking down onto the rest of the campus grounds and where the site is in relation to the buildings. The final shots are taken from the local area; the buildings, landscaping and roads are visible.
