The film opens with an architectural model on a boardroom table and two men in suits are seated beside the model. The men have blue prints or architectural designs spread out in front of them and they study and discuss them; a secretary is also seated in the room and she takes notes. They call in a third man who also examines the designs, then the secretary opens the door for another man who is greeted and walks back out with her.
In the following shot the four men stand at a drawing table and examine some more designs. There is a brief shot taken from the top of an office looking down past all of the employees, desks and drawing boards.
There is a shot of the model of the Kent Wing and then the shot changes to the top of a building looking down onto a construction site. Foundations have been dug and men in diggers are visible. Following this is a brief shot of the current college buildings and then of the yet to be completed college wing.
The builders use diggers to scrape rubble and soil from the side of the foundations and tip it onto another section. This is followed by a shot of the entire flattened construction site and a quantity surveyor studying the land through his spirit level equipment.
A truck is lined up to pour cement while builders are on a roof sealing it. The next few shots are taken from another vantage point and follow the trucks as they drive in and out of the site, concrete columns as they are brought in by crane and finally of a man in an office examining different types of furnishings.
A crane lifts metal sections of a 'tower' into place and then there are shots of some builders inside hammering it into place. Another crane lifts some wall segments while trucks drive around the construction site.
A small digger tows a larger truck through the mud; it gets stuck a few times and the wheels skid; it eventually tows the truck away. Following this are shots of a large drill digging down into the ground beside a builder; every time the drill comes up it sprays lots of soil around the place. The drill has created a large hole in the ground. There are shots taken from the top of a crane looking down over the busy construction site as well as shots of the building in an advanced stage of construction.
Concrete is poured onto the ground and metal supports have been integrated. There are brief shots from inside the half-finished building. A builder pours cement from a wheel barrow and smoothes it by hand with a flat implement. This is followed by more shots taken from inside the half-built building; exposed pipes in the ceilings and un-rendered walls.
A man in a suit is in an office on the phone; he talks for a few moments and then leaves with a hard hat. In another shot the man with the suit and another man come into the office, remove their hard hats and then study the architectural plans.
A roofer fits an inner roof onto a ceiling a painter paints walls, while two electricians install a fluorescent light onto a ceiling. In another section of the building a man lays a wooden floor in a classroom and another man lays floor tiles. The final shot is of two men building a stone wall outside the new wing.
