The racing cars are lined up at the side of the track flanked by crowds of spectators in the stands on both sides. Men in white boiler suits walk past. A map of the circuit is shown.

The drivers are ready by their cars. The teams of Bentley and Jowett can be seen.
Intertitle - General activity before the start
An engine is being inspected under the bonnet. The cars are being wiped down next to the Aston Martin pits. The cars manoeuvre into place for the start.
Intertitle - Get Ready!
The cars are lined up, each with a man standing opposite who suddenly run out of the way.
Intertitle - They're Off! Phew!
The drivers run across the track, jump into their cars and are off. Most are sports cars, but many aren't.
Intertitle - 1st lap position: Gonzales, Moss, Cole, Chaboud, Biondetti.
The leading group of cars come around a bend, then seen on a long stretch watched by crowds on the side and then around an 'S' bend.
Intertitle - After 20 laps - Moss No. 22 laps at over 104 m.p.h.
More cars are seen coming around the 'S' bend.
Intertitle - 31st lap- Moss now way ahead laps at over 105 m.p.h
Yet more cars are shown from the same vantage point.
Intertitle - After four hours. . 1. Moss, 2. Walker, 3. Johnson - all Jaguars!

Intertitle - Position at 1 a.m Fate struck heavily at the JAGUARS - both Moss and Johnson having retired with loss of oil pressure.
Intertitle - Position at 4 a.m (Half Distance). . 1. JAGUAR (the 2 peters) 2. TALBOT. 3. CUNNINGHAM.
Intertitle - Position at 8 a.m. 1. JAGUAR 2. CUNNINGHAM 3. ASTON-MARTIN * All five Astons were still dicing round beautifully.
Intertitle - Concrake Mike! Wot no sound
(Colour footage starts here.)Two men with badges on their blazers are joking in a dark office. A Jaguar pulls out of the pit, and other cars stops for servicing as more cars drive past.
Intertitle - The Jaguar of Walker and Whitehead now has a 90 mile lead.
The race continues to be filmed from the pits.
Intertitle - The little Monopole, the favourite handicap, last half an hour at this stage - taking to the turnips at Tertre Rouge.
More of the race is filmed from the same spot, with one car pulling into the pits.
Intertitle - The eventual winner changing drivers for the last time.
A car (No. 20) makes a pit stop getting a re-fuel. Some of the race is filmed from a stand showing some of the spectators. The track is lined with spectators and mechanics next to the pits. More cars come in to stop. Cars are now crossing the finishing line with someone waving the chequered flag for each one.
Intertitle - The Chequered Flag at 4 p.m
More cars pass the chequered flag and a crowd gathers around one of the drivers, and then others as they arrive in the pits.
Intertitle - The massive Score-board
The scoreboard is shown (without being able to make out what is on it), with crowds standing underneath it. More cars arrive.
Intertitle - The Happy Winners . . . Peter Walker and Peter Whitehead.
The two drivers are sat on their car in their overalls having a joke.
Intertitle - The Gallant Monopole . . First on Handicap.
The film comes to an end.
